A Funny Dude

February 12, 2013

MattThis is Matt. He’s just a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude. But he’s also a funny dude. He can take something as inglorious and painful as a vasectomy and turn it into a hilarious story the whole family can enjoy. Well, maybe not pets that have been neutered.

He has chronicled his journey from single dude to married dude to dad dude and the dangers of thong underwear on his blog: Confessions of a Dumb, White Guy. He can warm your heart with a story about his adorable son pooping all over his crib or how his daughter and son love to have tupperware parties in the middle of the kitchen singing Yo Gabba Gabba songs. Then he’ll have you lying on the floor gasping for breath as you laugh your way into oblivion when you read his Random Acts of Shifeness (a regular feature on his blog) with gems like these:

  • Why is your index finger the same size as your nostrils? I am having a hard time explaining that to my son because he thinks picking his nose is awesome.
  • You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who makes people happy, but inside he’s real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea.
  • No one bothers you until you fart.
  • Do you think a prison inmate puts “It’s Complicated” as his/her relationship status on Facebook?

Matt is also my client. I’m working with him on a book based on his blog. He wants to pitch his idea to agents so we’ve worked on his query letter. I’m sure we’re going to hear LOTS more funny stuff from Matt. I am honored to be working with him and to help him share his humor with the world.

  • Well I am honored to have your help in this process. You are a wonderful writing coach, and I sincerely appreciate all you have done for me. I am also grateful to call you a friend too. Thank you so much for the kind words. Have a wonderful day, Dana, and you are awesome.

  • YOU are awesome! 🙂
